PCB ASSEMBLY / ENGINEERING & PROCUREMENT
Prototype to Production
Build a controlled path from bring-up to repeat orders.
Start with these checks
- Plan first-article approval and engineering response time.
- Log design changes against the tested board revision.
- Transfer fixtures, test instructions and lessons into the production release.
Turn the review into a build decision
Keep decisions in the approved build package rather than scattered across messages. Identify the board revision, the person responsible for the decision and any conditions the assembler must follow. Where a process limit or standard applies, confirm the current requirement with the responsible manufacturer or specification owner.
Continue the project review
Review prototype pcb assembly. Use the file checklist to keep the release complete and the templates and tools to organize the handoff.
