- Record board revision, affected references and the failure symptom.
- Preserve photographs, inspection results and test conditions.
- Confirm the cause before changing multiple process variables.
Turn the review into a build decision
Keep decisions in the approved build package rather than scattered across messages. Identify the board revision, the person responsible for the decision and any conditions the assembler must follow. Where a process limit or standard applies, confirm the current requirement with the responsible manufacturer or specification owner.
Continue the project review
Review pcb testing inspection. Use the file checklist to keep the release complete and the templates and tools to organize the handoff.
