Box Build Assembly

Box build assembly integrates circuit boards with enclosures, cables, connectors and other mechanical parts. A complete release needs the system bill of materials and build instructions, not only the files used to assemble the PCB.

Release the whole assembly

Include drawings, harness specifications, mechanical BOM, labels and packaging requirements. Identify purchased subassemblies and the party responsible for supplying them. State the approved hardware and any fastening requirements.

Make build instructions repeatable

Document cable routing, strain relief, connector engagement and any critical assembly sequence. Provide photographs or drawings of the intended result where they clarify the instructions. Treat firmware and configuration settings as controlled files.

Define final product testing

Agree how the assembled unit is powered, configured and tested, including any safety precautions and fixtures. Specify what is recorded, how serial numbers are assigned and how failed units are handled.

What to include in your RFQ

  • System BOM and mechanical drawings
  • Cable and harness information
  • Firmware and configuration release
  • Assembly instructions and fastening requirements
  • Final test, labeling and packaging specification

Confirm the process limits, material availability and acceptance criteria in your project quotation. They depend on the design and the manufacturing facility.
