PCB ASSEMBLY / ENGINEERING & PROCUREMENT

Quick-Turn PCB Assembly

A quick-turn build depends on a complete design release, available material and a confirmed production slot. An accelerated assembly step cannot recover time lost to unresolved BOM lines or missing engineering approvals.

Establish when the lead time starts

Ask whether the quoted lead time starts at order placement, file approval or receipt of all material. Confirm whether fabrication, sourcing, inspection and shipping are included. Keep shipping time separate from production time.

Clear material risks before ordering

Review each unavailable or uncertain line item. Pre-approve acceptable alternatives, or agree which components you will supply. Do not substitute solely to save time without checking electrical, mechanical and firmware requirements.

Choose a realistic test scope

Testing still needs fixtures, instructions and any necessary programming data. Identify the checks that must be completed before shipment and the tests that belong to your own bring-up process. Put first-article response deadlines in the schedule.

What to include in your RFQ

  • Complete fabrication and assembly files
  • Confirmed material availability
  • Named contact for engineering questions
  • Agreed first-article approval window
  • Written production and shipping milestones

Confirm the process limits, material availability and acceptance criteria in your project quotation. They depend on the design and the manufacturing facility.
